"Can we be NICE and not get depressed?"
The APP holds conferences each year for one or two days, sometimes in partnership with other organisations. Once a year a guest lecturer is invited to speak on a topical subject to the membership and the professional public.
Conference Posters and Booking Forms: when a conference poster and booking form becomes available, the title of the conference will be blue and underlined and if clicked with the mouse the poster will appear in a new window on screen and can then be printed out.

"Can we be NICE and not get depressed?"
Speaker: Mary Target PhD, a psychoanalyst and clinical psychologist, is Reader in Psychoanalysis at UCL, and Director of the MSc in Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies. She is Professional Director of the Anna Freud Centre, London, where she is also Academic and Research Organiser of the Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Psychoanalysis, and holds honorary faculty positions at Yale University (New Haven, CT) and Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX).;
Mary's talk for the AGM will focus on her recent experience of involvement in the NICE guideline development group for depression in children and young people. We are living through a time when people with psychodynamic skills are perhaps feeling somewhat demoralized by the lack of NICE support for what they have to offer. In her capacities as an analyst and a highly respected psychotherapy researcher, Mary's involvement in NICE guideline development has given her a unique perspective which should inspire us to become more involved in the production of subsequent guidelines and in psychotherapy research in general.
Tea will be served from 3.00 pm. The lecture will start at 3.30pm and conclude at 5.00 pm. 1.5 hours CPD. The Lecture is open to both members and non-members of the APP and will follow after the Annual General Meeting of the APP, from 1.30 - 3.00 pm, to which all APP members are invited to attend.
Cost: £10.00 for APP members, £15.00 for non-members
