Conference Section

1. Introduction

The APP has organized conferences on clinical and organizational issues pertaining to psychoanalytic psychotherapy in the public sector since its inception in 1981. In recent years there have been 2-3 conferences a year, held by Sections individually or in partnership with other Sections or indeed with other organisations.

The Conference Section is keen to encourage ideas from all members and to support Sections in planning and running successful events. We are always keen to promote ventures outside London or those aimed at interested audiences who have less exposure to psychoanalytic practitioners.

3. Activities

Although our conferences usually take place in London, we have also organized regional events, and we have recently held conferences or workshops in Newcastle, Birmingham and Middlesborough, usually in conjunction with local NHS services. Out of London APP members who are interested in hosting a conference or workshop are encouraged to contact the Conference Chair or Conference Administrator.

4. Future Developments

When a poster has been produced its title will appear in blue and underlined and it can then be viewed and printed and will include a tear-off form to apply for the conference.
