The clips are taken from radio broadcasts or archive film and give you an opportunity to see and hear some key figures in the development of psychoanalysis.
The Freud Video clips show scenes from silent movie film made of the Freud family between 1930 and 1939. The first clip was from film taken by Mark Brunswick at Freud's home in Vienna. The second clip was made by Princess Marie Bonaparte during a trip to visit the Freud family in their London home. Freud had left Vienna on 5th June 1938 to travel to his new home at 20 Maresfield Gardens in London. The house is now the site of the Freud Museum. The voice commentary you hear is by Anna Freud as she explains what is happening in the film.
The Jung Video Clip is from an interview of Professor Carl Gustav Jung by John Freeman at his house in Zurich. The film was made in 1959 for a BBC series of famous living people called 'Face to Face'.
