MEMBERSHIP

 

The APP CONSTITUTION (as amended on 24th March 1984, 13th February 1985, 14th March 1997 and 12th March 1999) defines the criteria for membership as follows:

 

FULL MEMBERSHIP

Full membership is open to psychotherapists who hold posts in the NHS or related services, e.g. Probation, Social Services, the Prison Medical Service, Education, etc. and :-

 

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Associate membership is open to all grades of workers in the NHS and other public services who :-

(Reduced fee membership is available to those whose gross annual salary falls below £18,000)

 

APPLYING FOR MEMBERSHIP

The APP is a member of the umbrella association, the British Psychoanalytic Council. Since it does not offer an accreditable training, Associate members of the APP are not eligible to be listed in the BCP register unless under the auspices of their training organization.

Any person who wishes to become a member of the Association either as a Full Member or as an Associate Member shall apply to the Secretary to be admitted to membership and his/her nomination for membership shall be supported in writing by not less than two Full Members in the case of Full Membership and by one Full Member in the case of Associate Membership and by such other evidence as the Council shall from time to time determine.
